Green Cleaning

Green Cleaning involves using products and systems that reduce cleaning’s impact on the environment. And it appears to be paying off. Studies are finding more and more examples that Green Cleaning has several benefits, such as improving student performance, reducing absenteeism, and enhancing worker productivity.

It is important to be aware, however, that Green Cleaning involves much more than just transferring from traditional to more environmentally preferable cleaning chemicals. Green Cleaning should be viewed as a comprehensive process involving such things as high-quality matting systems, high-filtration vacuum cleaners, and advanced floor machines that all work together to improve the health of building occupants, cleaning workers, and the environment.

Less Chemical—More Green

Another important aspect of Green Cleaning, which often goes unrecognized, is using as little chemical—Green or not—as possible and still performing cleaning tasks satisfactorily. This is one reason microfiber cleaning cloths are often considered part of the “Green arsenal.” Microfiber cloths can be effective used dry or with just plain water, which eliminates any potential harm to the environment.
